"The way we live in a city shapes the way we interact with the city, and in turn shapes our experiences and the ways in which we value and remember the places within the cities. Th public transportation systems of a city as important magnets where large number of people move through and where many interactions between people and the cities takes place. With the growth of the city, numerous new transportation systems are proposed. While these developments have the effect of transforming the transit areas to a very large extent, it is with these new developments that the public realm gets compromised. This thesis looks into the transitional spaces within the city of Mumbai and how such precincts become opportunities for social and informal transactions, within the journey through the skywalk."
