"This thesis proposal of a Luxury Boutique Resort in Chennai, India breaks down the social, economic and cultural factors that would have an effect on this project. The concept of culture introduces this project as it becomes the binding force of the project within the country. It studies the growth of tourism in Chennai, India and how the hospitality industry has grown so rapidly in the last few years, thus increasing the demand for luxury hotels and resorts in the city. It focuses on how this Luxury Boutique resort can bring revenue to the city and also create job opportunities for the less affluent people. It is evident from this study that the Indian tourism industry is growing rapidly and how the culture of Chennai has created a socio-cultural link with other countries thus attracting more tourists in the city."
