"After 200 years, the world will be dominated by artificial intelligence in a reality that will seem unrecognizable to the people of today. With climate change and sea-level rise, only a handful of species will survive, and urban ecology will need to cope with this environmental alteration. In response, the density of cities will increase rapidly, creating ever-growing skyscrapers to accommodate worldwide urbanization. This thesis will propose strategies for combining relationships among humans, other species, and their shared environment in the 23rd century utopia city of Xi'an, China. It is still human nature to preserve many aspects of present-day (21st century) life, even in the face of an ever-changing world. Not only must humans adapt, but the animals and landscapes that share the Earth must also be considered two hundred years in the future. Cities will face more extinction, and more technology to combining extinction, including those that work to create organic life for the urban world, and those that work with existing biological systems to preserve existing diversity." --Abstract
