"This paper examines female artist’s, including myself, who explore emotions of maternal love and self-reflection. As a pervasive theme, the theme of motherhood is widely depicted in paintings. No matter what religion or race, it shows a universal value, and the artist describes the beauty and greatness of motherhood with exquisite emotions. Motherhood is great, and being pregnant with new life, it is the embodiment of hope. New life has countless opportunities and possibilities. Whether as an individual or a group or even as a country, the existence of motherhood is the basis for its continuation and development. Since ancient times, countless artists have expressed the beauty of motherhood through various forms of artistic works, especially the female artists who have been a mother, and I also feel the same way, because I am a mother just like them. I will expand my understanding of motherhood, self-reflection and emotional cognition through my personal experience and artworks. This thesis will discuss the perception of maternal emotions and the interpretation of self-reflection through the comparison and analysis of my artworks and other works of art."
