Abstract: |
"This thesis investigates the relationship between photography and memory. It focuses on human nature’s tendency to idealize certain memories from our past especially when we are unhappy with our day to day lives. I use family archives and southern landscapes to reveal family history and personal experiences, while also using the overlaying of imagery to speak to the imperfection of personal memory." Keywords: memory, family, home, feminism, place, southern gothic, marriage, codependency |
