"This thesis and body of work deal with the complexities of decision-making as one shapes their value systems in accordance with social norms. Inspired by my awareness of the disparity of values between older generations and younger ones, I explore life choices and self-realization through making images using symbols and metaphors. The goal of this work is to discover how to remain authentically ourselves in the presence of restrictions, limitations, and potential threats. The fish in the narrative provides empathy towards anyone who is in an attempt to break out of restrictions, grow and become stronger."
