Description: |
Portrait of three unidentified children in frilly clothing, by Launey Studios, 141 Broughton St, Savannah GA. Back is blank. The card is somewhat faded, and has some markings in ink, which appear to be an attempt to color the eyebrows on 2 of the children. Launey Studio is listed in the 1899 Savannah City Directory as being located at 21 Broughton Street. The manager is listed as Arthur R. Launey and the proprietor is listed as Mrs. M. L. Launey. An ad in the City Directory said they also sold picture and frames. The date of this cabinet card is probably earlier, when the company was located at 141 Broughton Street. |
