Abstract: |
This thesis will provide a model for minimizing energy abuse while maintaining everyday comforts in a wilderness area residence. The project focuses on the relationship between the primitive past of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains and the wastefulness of today’s urban environment. By capitalizing on these 19th century vernacular passive design methods, combined with modern sustainable energy technologies, a site specific net zero residential structure can be achieved. |
