Most issues of Life had a theme that was introduced by the cover and reflected throughout the issue. The theme of this issue is "Heart to Heart." Size example half page, full page, any information specific to cartoon or ad. Albert D. Blashfield was born in 1860. He studied at the Art Students League in New York. He joined the staff of Life in the early 1890's. His art work decorated title pages and advertisements. His most important contribution to Life is the Life cupid. Blashfield was a good friend of John Ames and illustrated several of his books as well as those of other authors. He died in 1920. One eighth page cartoon. |
