Description: |
Cartoons in Life were often social or political commentaries, or occasionally, philosophical statements. Rudolph F. Bunner was a cartoonist, painter, and book illustrator. He exhibited widely and was a member of the Salmagundi Club, an important club for artists. He was also a teacher at the Art Students League of New York. He used the signature Rudolph F. Bunner for paintings and R. F. Bunner for his illustrations. Half page cartoon. The title may have referred to Friedrich Nietzsche's Human All Too Human, published in 1878: "He who has attained intellectual emancipation to any extent cannot, for a long time, regard himself otherwise than as a wanderer on the face of the earth..." |
