Abstract: |
"In this thesis I explore similarities and differences in the creative process of theatre and film performance as a first-time theatre actor. Performing in a production of Suzan Lori-Parks’ play 'In the Blood' as a graduate student, I chronicle my experience with the critically-acclaimed tragedy versus my filmic experience on camera. Similarities and differences of stage and screen are examined, as well as relationships between the two worlds of performative art." Keywords: In the Blood; Suzan Lori-Parks; Method acting; theatre acting; film acting; performing arts; differences in theatre and film acting; similarities in theatre and film acting; film studies; theatre studies |
