Abstract: |
"In the urban design practice of China as an example in the past decade, the continuation of urban texture and the adoption of smallscale neighbourhoods have become the consensus of most designers. For instance, with the rapid development of big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, the population of large cities is so full that some manufacturing processing plants have begun to migrate to remote areas. The urban form and urban lifestyle for villages are changed. Communities become urbanized gradually but losing their unique characters. It gives attention to observe what is the appropriate goal for future village development. This paper is based on many fieldworks and many in-depth design strategies with the village and local officials conducted in Laoxu, Xingguo, Ganzhou, China." --Abstract
