Abstract: |
This thesis is comprised of a case study of the wood block floor restoration at the Georgia State Railroad Museum (formerly the Central of Georgia Railway Roundhouse Museum) in Savannah, Georgia. This case study presents a brief history of the complex, an as-built assessment, and a detail of the restoration process of the flooring system. The document also seeks to provide recommendations concerning protocol to be used during the maintenance of the flooring system. In addition, another example of historic wood block was examined and compared to the subject flooring system in order to exhibit another historic use of the material. |
