Publication date: L'anno del Giubileo MDXXV. The book was published in 1625, which was a Jubilee year declared by Pope Urban VIII. In a Jubilee year, pilgrims who visit Rome and the basilicas, confess their sins, and are truly penitent, may have their sins pardoned.
