Black and white stereograph card of Christ Church with double image affixed to yellow paper covered card. On the back of card, publishing information is printed and title is handwritten in ink. Christ Church was founded with the founding of the Georgia Colony in 1733. It was assigned a building location on the east trust lot of the first square on Bull Street. The church is the third building on the site. The first was destroyed by fire, the second destroyed by a hurricane while still under construction. The building was consecrated in 1840 and is in the Greek Revival style. The bell in the northeast bell tower was forged by Revere and Sons of Boston in 1819.

The photographer of this card was Jerome N. Wilson. He was born in New York but came to Savannah in 1865, seeing opportunities to expand his profession and rebuild an economy. He was a professional photographer. He advertised as a photographer of cabinet cards, carte de visits, stereographs, ferrotypes, frames, and other photographic services. His success was mixed and he was involved in a number of lawsuits, large and small, some as trivial as an overhanging sign. Much of his property was lost due to these suits. He partnered with several photographers over the years. Wilson died in 1897.
