Black and white print with added colored flags, border at the bottom of card with caption, and undivided back, postmarked July 5, 1912. Completed in 1887, the Cotton Exchange was designed William Gibbons Preston (1844-1910),in the Romanesque style he was famous for in Savannah. Preston's Design was selected in a competition of eleven architects. The fountain in the foreground was constructed in 1889 and features a beautiful terra cotta griffin surrounded by a fence with medallions of poets and presidents. The building is now the Solomon’s Masonic Lodge.

The card was produced by the Adolph Selige Souvenir Post Card Company which published between 1900 and 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri. Their predominant subjects were mid-Western scenes, humor, and images of Western themes, though there was some coverage of other parts of the country. They also produced a variety of cards for other publishers under the trade name Seliochrom.
