Abstract: |
Waterhouse is a new form of disaster relief housing designed for the Lesser Antilles region of the Caribbean islands. It addresses both immediate and longer-term needs of people who are left homeless as a result of natural disasters that occur in the region, most commonly hurricanes and earthquakes. In these situations, disaster victims are desperately in need of shelter and potable water. But there is also an opportunity in these crises - the chance to help improve people’s lives and enable them to live in a permanent sustainable home that protects them from future disasters. |
