Portrait of an unidentified woman in a high necked collar with lace trim and a brooch at her throat. Her dark hair is up in a bun with curly bangs in front. She is wearing a dangling pearl earring.

While not much is known about the photography studio of Hermes and Gottieb, features on the cart itself such as the scalloped edge, date it around the 1890s. The 1899 Savannah City Directory lists both a Hermes and a Gottlieb as bakers. No studio by that name was listed under "Photographers".
