Abstract: |
"This study seeks to investigate the learning routines and collaborative interactions of teams distributed across physical and virtual distances; the specific aim is to propose an approach to understanding working environments that support learning organizations. This paper takes the following areas into consideration within the context of the Design Management discipline: workspace environment, mixed virtual and collocated on-ground (VO) teaming, and learning organization culture. This work employs a cross-sectional research methodology, including surveys and diary studies, to gain a better understanding of the learning routines that exist for mixed VO teams, the tools and spaces used to support them, and the management styles that guide them. The data collected from these tools has provided an understanding of the broader cultural narratives informed by individual and leadership experiences within these teams and their organization and give insight into the physical and virtual needs of mixed VO teams." Includes separate team-building workshop guide "White Paper and Workshop" Keywords: mixed virtual and on-ground teams, learning organizations, workspace environment, teaming routines, information management, process innovation |
