Abstract: |
"This thesis will analyze our relationship to place through postcolonial theory and discourse, looking specifically at the concept of dislocation and Homi Bhabha's 'third space.' The aim is to show and bring awareness to the large, multicultural generation that is emerging and representing a new, unique blend of cultures and religions. This hybrid will only continue to grow. Both my work and various artists address these concepts and ideas." Keywords: flag, place, border, dislocation, globalization, hybrid, third space, multicultural, postcolonialism, Hami Bhabha, Yukinori Yanagi, Max Serradifalco, travel |
