Color postcard with small white border at bottom for caption, divided back, postmarked January 23, 1909. Image is of the Citizens and Southern Bank, formed by the merger of Savannah based banks, Citizens Bank and the Southern National Bank. Mills B. Lane commissioned New York based architects Mowbray and Uffinger to design the building in 1907. The neoclassical architecture blended in well with the existing architecture on Johnson Square. The building is still standing and is currently a Bank of America. |
