This thesis focuses on how the natural laws of our environment affect our tastes. It is through an instinctual perspective that this paper is aimed, discussing in particular the classical principles of the divine proportion, golden spirals, and Fibonacci sequence, which have influenced artistic compositions throughout history . It also touches on the theory of evolution and the use of scientific reference material in art botany, which have offered insight on how art and design have evolved from nature. It is in the combination of these theories that my artwork begins to take shape. By acknowledging natural laws and working in a more accurate way than the classically trained botanical artists, my work offers a modern and unique understanding of how nature and art come together.
