"Renderman has proven to be a powerful artistic tool over the past few decades. Other renderers that don’t have the features of Renderman are often used because it is either too expensive, unavailable, or has a stigma of being too hard to use. With the recent drastic price drop and release of a free for non-commercial use, fully functional, version of Renderman, this tool will help bridge the gap between workflows currently using Maya / Mentalray for rendering and using Renderman. This tool makes converting scenes for rendering in Renderman as quick and easy as pressing a button. As a result, visual effects studios will have the ability to convert their current Mentalray workflow to a workflow that uses Renderman as a primary renderer. In addition, learning how to use Renderman will be much easier by gaining an understanding of corresponding attributes from an already familiar renderer."
