The Thesis Investigation is about Rethinking the Parking Lot by framing a void through the context of the human interaction. The definition of one possible solution is to be found through the site specifics and dialogue of a new thought process for construction. Within San Juan, there is a sector called Condado, which lacks the Identity of the puertorican, with the exception of the temporal events. Condado is defined by the edges disrupting a long lasting experience that is obscured by the fleeting reaction, surplus of massive construction and an “image” of buildings that do not belong in Place. The Dialogue of process and design will rethink the typology on which design may develop, while framing the existing with a new conversation that seeks an identification of place through the re-evaluation of people and different stage sets that are to recuperate a Lot.
